Formed in January 2007 the dedicated volunteers of Trinity Park Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) have been working hard over the past eight years to provide tremendous support to their local community.
Trinity Park NHW has highlighted the power of NHW and its effectiveness in the community with its long list of achievements. Since Trinity Park NHW was started, NHW volunteers and members of the community have participated in CPR courses, tree planting days, Bunnings BBQ fundraisers and clean-up days.

Hard working volunteers from Trinity Park NHW receive recognition at the 2013 Neighbourhood Watch awards.
Some of the biggest achievements by the group was the David Trego William Park Dedication in honour of a local resident who was one of The Rats of Tobruk. The group was also responsible for the creation of Centaur Park and the BBQ area which was established to commemorate the sinking of the Centaur Ship, only too fitting for a suburb that has a majority of streets name after ships or battles. The Marlin Coast Neighbourhood Centre situated at Trinity Park was also very grateful for the generous donation of $2000 from the group to build wheel chair access at the centre.
The volunteers from Trinity Park NHW also provided much appreciated support to their local police station; each Christmas volunteers took the time to deliver Christmas puddings to officers working Christmas Day, the group rallied helpers to surprise officers at the station with a new garden and $540 was donated to the station for the purchase of a bracket to transport police bikes on the back of a police vehicle.
Trinity Park NHW was a strong voice for the community and took action on concerns raised by their residents. Two bus shelters were installed on Reed Road after concerned members of the group saw commuters constantly standing in the rain waiting for buses and numerous signs were installed in the community following parking and trail bike complaints.

Trinity Park NHW and Smithfield police bring a smile back to the face of a northern beaches resident.
A story that is sure to touch the hearts of many is the most recent donation made by Trinity Park NHW group.
In August this year Smithfield Police Station contacted long-time treasurer for Trinity Park NHW Mrs Tricia Traill seeking assistance for a job that they had just attended. Sergeant Mel Stevens and her partner had been called to a northern beaches residence to investigate a stealing complaint. The resident aged in her 70’s was devastated by the destruction of her letterbox and theft of her precious garden Buddha. Sergeant Stevens managed to locate and return the garden Buddha but was compelled to bring a smile back to the face of the victim who also struggling with personal and family health issues.
Always willing to lend a hand, Tricia Traill eagerly offered assistance from Trinity Park NHW by donating $200 which enabled the purchase of a new and improved letterbox, 2 beautiful new elephant garden statues (for good luck), a potted plant and a Bunnings gift voucher. Sergeant Stevens arranged for a neighbour to install the new letterbox and delivered the gifts to the speechless resident. Needless to say, Trinity Park NHW and Smithfield police managed to bring a smile back and many grateful tears.
2015 has seen a number of Trinity Park NHW committee members move from the area or resign from their roles due to family commitments.
