Supplying drugs to minors, Smithfield: Smithfield detectives have charged a 39-year-old Kewarra Beach woman following a protracted local drug operation.

It will be alleged cannabis was supplied to a number of people, including juveniles, from November 2014 to February of this year.

The woman has been charged with a total of nine offences including five counts of supplying a dangerous drug to a minor, four counts of supplying a dangerous drug and one count each of possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a drug utensil.

She is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on November 25.

Men charged over hardware store theft, Cairns:  A 34-year-old Edmonton man and a Woree man aged 48 were charged yesterday following an investigation into the alleged theft of outdoor and garden equipment from a Portsmith hardware store in April.

It will be alleged that property including a ride-on lawn mower, chainsaw, generator, line trimmer and power tools were removed from the business without payment.

Police executed search warrants at two residences yesterday and a quantity of property was located and seized.

The 34-year-old was charged with stealing as a servant and is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on December 1.

The 48-year-old was charged with stealing or alternatively receiving stolen property and is due to appear in the same Court on November 30.
