Knife and nuisance offences, Cairns: Police have charged a 30-year-old Bungalow man with one count each of public nuisance, obstruct police, possess knife in a public place and unlicenced driving.

It will be alleged the man drove to a business in Reservoir Road, Manoora at about 3am today before harassing the console operator and a customer. It’s further alleged the man was aggressive and threatening police before advancing on officers and refusing commands to desist.

A taser was deployed and the man detained.  The man’s vehicle was impounded for a week due to an alleged second Type 2 driving offence.

He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on January 5, 2016.

Man charged, wilful exposure, Manunda: A 37-year-old Mooroobool man has been charged after he was allegedly found exposing himself outside a Pease Street shopping centre at around 9.30pm on Thursday night.

The police dog squad was conducting routine patrols in the area when they observed the man lying on a set of stairs in the entrance way. Police will allege the man was semi-naked and that he was engaged in a sexual act by himself.

When approached by police the man allegedly declined to cease his behavior, before a wrestle ensued with the officer.

The man was charged with one count each of wilful exposure and obstructing police. He is scheduled to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court on January 5, 2016.

Charges for Out of Control Event, Bentley Park: Detectives have charged a 16-year-old Bentley Park boy with one count of organizing and out of control event and two counts of trespass.

It will be alleged the boy was involved in organising the party that took place on Thursday night and into the early hours of Friday morning.

It will be further alleged a large number of guest attended the party at an abandoned home in Bentley Park after the organisers advertised on Facebook.

The owner of the property has erected fencing and trespass signage at the property to keep trespassers out.

A large number of property related offences occurred in the Bentley Park area during this period and police are continuing their investigations.

The teen will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

Drug and property charges, Cairns North: A 29-year-old Cairns North man is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court today charged with six counts of possess a dangerous drug and one count each of possess utensils, possess property suspected for purpose of committing drug offences, possess tainted property, possess explosives, possess restricted drugs and fail to dispose of syringe.

Cairns Detectives executed a search warrant at a unit in Sheridan Street, Cairns North at about 9.40pm on Saturday night. It will be alleged during the search police seized a quantity of drugs including cannabis, methylamphetamine, cocaine, lysergide, oxycodone and valium along with ammunition, drug utensils and tainted property.

The man is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.

Drug charges, Trinity Beach: Smithfield detectives yesterday charged a 25-year-old Trinity Beach man with one count each of supply dangerous drugs, possess dangerous drugs, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under the drugs misuse act and possess utensils.

Detectives executed a search warrant at a home in Trinity Beach Road Trinity beach on Saturday evening and seized a quantity of methylamphetamine, cash, drug utensils and property items.

He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.

Multiple fraud charges, Cairns: A 27-year-old Manoora man is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today charged with a total of 17 offences including, nine counts of fraud, two counts of attempted fraud, one count each of stealing, receiving tainted property, contravene a domestic violence order, unlicenced driving, breach of bail and fail to appear.

It will be alleged the offences occurred over the past four months. On September 5 a 75-year-old interstate tourist accidentally dropped his wallet as he was crossing Vasey Esplanade at Trinity Beach.

It will be alleged the 27-year-old picked up the wallet and used the man’s card to make multiple purchases.

He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.

Assault occasioning bodily harm charge, Cairns: A 27-year-old Mount Sheridan man is due to front Cairns Magistrates Court on January 8, 2016.

It will be alleged the man punched a 48-year-old Manunda man on the dance floor of a club in Grafton Street, Cairns at about 5am yesterday.

The man was knocked unconscious with one punch and was conveyed to Cairns Hospital for medical treatment.

Burglary Charges, Bentley Park: Edmonton police have charged a 13-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy each with one count of burglary.

It will be alleged the pair broke into a property in Altona Street, Bentley Park on December 7 and stole a quantity of computer tablets.

Both teens will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
