It’s that time of year again and while the WET season hasn’t arrived just yet, it won’t be long.
Police are urging drivers to ensure that they check road conditions before venturing out on the roads and pay particular attention to areas where we traditionally see localised flooding.
Flooded creeks, causeways and rivers will brighten the spirits of farmers but can put a dampener on motorists in the far north who are wishing to travel.
Remember: If it’s flooded, forget it!
Vehicles found driving beyond road closure signs can receive on-the-spot fines of $660 under provisions of the Transport Infrastructure Act.
