iphone appWith the recent launch of the new Queensland Government’s GraffitiSTOP phone application, it is now even easier to report the presence of graffiti in your local area. Police urge residents to download the free application which is available on both Android and Iphone’s.

The new application enables the reporting person to take an image of the graffiti and upload it to the graffitiSTOP website. The report is then passed on to the local council who take measures to facilitate the removal of the graffiti.

The quick removal of graffiti reduces the notoriety sought by graffiti offenders to display their often unsightly and sometimes offensive ‘artwork’ to the public.

Queenslanders can fight the war against graffiti through:

  1. One telephone number 1300 Graffiti (1300 472 334) for reporting graffiti or to get advice regarding graffiti removal and prevention in local areas. The hotline service is operated from 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday excluding Public Holidays.
  2. An SMS only function (1300 472 334) to report graffiti, 24 hours per day, 365 days per year (carrier dependent technology).
  3. Uploading images and reporting graffiti offences 24 hours per day, 365 days per year via www.graffitistop.com.au
  4. Using portable devices including smart phones and tablets to report and upload images of graffiti (Note – software compliant portable devices are required).
