Appeal for witnesses to serious traffic crash, Gordonvale: The Far North Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a single vehicle traffic crash that occurred at about 11pm yesterday.

The crash occurred on the Pine Creek Yarrabah Road near the intersection of Napier Road, Packers Camp near Gordonvale.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle has lost control of her vehicle, left the road and collided with a tree. The 44-year-old Green Hill woman has sustained life threatening injuries in the crash.

The vehicle is described as a blue 2004 Ford Falcon Utility and sustained extensive damage in the crash.

QFRS and an off duty nurse were first on scene and commenced life-saving treatment before she was conveyed by QAS to Cairns Hospital.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or observed the vehicle prior to the crash to contact the Forensic Crash Unit on ph: 40307174 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Police Reference #QP1601107650

Property charges, Parramatta Park: Property crime squad officers yesterday charged a 25-year-old Parramatta Park man with two counts of fraud, one count each of enter premises and commit, stealing and fail to appear.

Police allege the man stole a company’s fuel card on May 27 before attending two service stations and purchasing fuel and goods on the cards on May 27 and June 2.

He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
