Fraud charge, Cairns: A 60-year-old Normanton woman was charged yesterday following investigations into a fraud related complaint.
It will be alleged the woman stayed at an Esplanade hotel complex between May 29 and June 11 and left without paying her account.
It will be further alleged that an arrangement she had made with hotel staff for the accommodation costs to be met by a Gulf of Carpentaria company was unauthorised and subsequently declined.
Detectives charged the woman with one count of fraud and she is due to reappear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on September 12.
Burglary and property charges, Earlville: Police charged a 16-year-old male from Mooroobool yesterday as part of investigations into a recent spate of property offences committed in the Earlville area.
Officers from the Mooroobool Police Beat located and spoke with the boy at his residence just after 11am yesterday and he was taken into custody.
Cairns Property Crime Squad officers assisted with the investigation and the boy was charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of entering a dwelling with intent and one count of entering premises and stealing.
The charges relate to offences allegedly committed at residences in Balaclava Road, Yarrum Street and Mansfield Street between June 27 and July 6.
He will be dealt with under the provisions of The Youth Justice Act 1992.
