Blue Heelers eat your heart out!
You never know what you’re going to get when you are rostered on the Cairns Police Station’s front counter.
On Saturday Station Client Service Officer Katie Wood said she was rewarded with the find of the weekend when this dog was handed in as ‘found property’.
“He loved his new role as station mascot. Blue Heelers eat your heart out,” Ms Wood said.
“I’ve named him Chief Wiggum.”
We are pleased to say Chief Wiggum only stayed a short time before Katie took him home with her and waited for officers from the Council.
“He came home with me for a few hours and got to meet my dogs and have a play,” Ms Wood said.
“The officers from the Council read his microchip and were able to locate the owners straight away so they returned Chief Wiggum for us.”
