Serious traffic crash, Woree: The Cairns Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a two vehicle crash that occurred at about 3.45pm yesterday on the Bruce Highway at the intersection of Toogood Road, Woree.
A 57-year-old Machans Beach man was conveyed to Cairns Hospital with serious leg injuries after his motorcycle and a car collided.
A 63-year-old Mount Sheridan woman driving the car was not injured however was conveyed to Cairns Hospital for observation.
Investigations are continuing and anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact Cairns FCU by calling 4030 7174.
Wounding charge, Freshwater: A 27-year-old Freshwater man is scheduled to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court on September 28, charged with one count each of wounding, possess pipes, possess dangerous drug and possess category M weapon.
At about 8.30am on September 7 police were called to a domestic dispute at a residence in Old Smithfield Road, Freshwater.
It will be alleged the 27-year-old man stabbed a 21-year-old Freshwater man in the arm.
The 21-year-old was conveyed to Cairns Hospital for medical treatment for a non-life threatening injury.
Police will allege a small quantity of cannabis and nun-chucks were also located at the property.
