Man charged over 2015 Redlynch robbery: An investigation into the armed robbery of staff at a Larsen Road business in November last year culminated in the arrest of a 27-year-old Mount Sheridan man on Saturday evening.

It will be alleged that the man and a male accomplice who was aged 18 at the time, had formed a plan to rob the store using a handgun.

It will be further alleged that the man drove a getaway vehicle whilst his accomplice conducted the actual robbery in the early hours of November 15, escaping with a sum of money. No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.

The younger man was arrested and charged with one count of armed robbery in September this year.

Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in Lancewood Close at Mount Sheridan at around 6.40pm on Saturday and took the 27-year-old into custody.

He was charged with one count of armed robbery and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on December 13.   

Armed robbery charge, Cairns: A 27-year-old Woree man was arrested and charged yesterday following investigations into the armed robbery of a Woree fuel station in June.

It will be alleged that the man entered the Bruce Highway business just before 8pm on June 10 armed with a knife and demanded cash from the 53-year-old male console operator.

The staff member complied with the demands and the offender fled on foot along the highway with a sum of money.

Police executed a search warrant at a Rigg Street residence at around 7am yesterday and arrested the man.  A number of items of interest to the investigations were also seized during the search.

The man was charged with one count each of armed robbery and possession of a drug utensil and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on December 20.

Burglary, vehicle theft and other charges, Cairns:  Detectives charged a 24-year-old Cairns man on Friday following investigations into recent burglary incident at Mooroobool.

It will be alleged that the man gained entry to a residence in Pomona Avenue in the early hours of Friday morning and stole a set of car keys before stealing a vehicle belonging to the resident, who was known to him.

Yarrabah police located the man with the allegedly stolen vehicle on Workshop Road at around 3.20pm on Friday and he was taken into custody before being transported to Cairns.

He was charged with one count each of burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and failing to comply with a requirement.  He was also further charged with two counts of failing to comply with reporting obligations.

The man is due to reappear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on December 16.
