Boy charged over damage to vehicles, Manoora:  Officers from the Cairns Property Crime Squad charged a 13-year-old Manoora boy yesterday following investigations into the forced entry of 16 vehicles.

It will be alleged on the evening of June 23, the boy entered the fenced parking compound of a Moignard Street community health clinic and smashed windows of 14 vehicles in order to gain entry.

It will be further alleged he then smashed windows to gain entry to two other vehicles parked at a Rambutan Close complex. It is unknown if any items have been stolen from the cars.

Officers attended the boy’s home address at around 6.30pm yesterday and he was taken into custody.

He was subsequently charged with 16 counts of entering premises with intent and one count of trespass. Investigations into the incidents are continuing.

Burglary and other charges, Manoora:  A man aged 21 and a 14-year-old boy, both of Manoora, were charged yesterday as a result of investigations into a burglary incident last Sunday night.

The youth allegedly gained entry to the Quetta Close residence, through an unlocked front door at around 11pm, while the resident was home.

He allegedly stole a wallet and two phones from the kitchen before leaving without being observed.

Detectives executed a search warrant at a Pease Street caravan park at around 5.30pm yesterday and the pair were taken into custody.

The youth was charged with one count each of burglary and possession of tainted property.

The man was charged with two counts of receiving tainted property and one count each of possession of a dangerous drug, and possession of a drug utensil.

He is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on July 27.
