Drug charges, Redlynch | Smithfield police intercepted a grey sedan on the Western Arterial Road, Redlynch at 1am today (June 30) and detained the driver, a 29-year-old Holloways Beach woman.
A search was conducted of her vehicle, and it is alleged police located a quantity of methamphetamine (Ice) and three used syringes.
The woman was taken to Smithfield Police Station where she allegedly contravened a requirement. The woman was charged with one count each of possess dangerous drugs, fail to properly dispose of a syringe and contravene a direction.
She is scheduled to appear in the Cairns July 7.
Assault charges, Cairns | Cairns Child Protection Investigation Unit detectives charged a 15-year-old Manoora girl yesterday (June 29) with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.
Police allege the girl had a verbal argument with her mother at an Earlville shopping precinct when a security officer approached.
The girl allegedly punched a 39-year-old woman in the face and walked away.
The woman was not known to the teen and sustained bruising to her face that required medical treatment.
The girl is alleged to have had a physical altercation with another girl outside a school in Manoora on June 5.
Police allege the girl threatened a 13-year-old Parramatta Park girl before punching her in the face where she sustained a cut to her lip that required medical treatment.
The girl is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Children’s Court at a later date.
