Drug and theft charges, Redlynch | A 43-year-old Cooktown woman has been charged following an alleged theft at a Redlynch shopping centre around 3.45pm on September 8.
Officers subsequently conducted a search of the woman’s bag and allegedly uncovered a clip seal bag containing a crystal substance.
The woman was charged with stealing, assault and two counts each of obstructing police and possession of a dangerous drug. She is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 3.

Drink driving charge, Cairns City | A 25-year-old Bayview Heights man has been charged with drink driving after he was intercepted by police on Bunda Street around 3am on September 10.
The man drew the attention of officers after he was allegedly spotted driving his sedan on the incorrect side of the road and was stopped for a roadside breath test. The 25-year-old was taken to the Cairns Police Station where he allegedly recorded a breath alcohol reading of .135.
The man was charged with one count of drink driving over the general alcohol limit. He is expected to appear before the Cairns Magistrates Court at a later date.
