
Property crime charges, Greater Cairns | Cairns Property Crime Squad officers yesterday charged three people on a total of 33 property related offences.
A 16-year-old Yarrabah boy was charged with three counts of enter dwelling with intent and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Police will allege the offences were committed in Whitfield, Mt Sheridan, and Edmonton over the four weeks.
A 16-year-old Yarrabah boy was charged with eight (8) counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, seven counts of burglary, and one count of enter premises. It’s alleged the offences were committed in the Cairns, Gordonvale, Goldsborough, and Edmonton areas, dating back to December 2021.
A 25-year-old Bentley Park man was charged with nine (9) counts of stealing and four counts of unlicenced driving yesterday. Police allege the offences relate to the theft of fuel across the greater Cairns area and unlicenced driving, dating back to April this year.
Strangulation offence (Domestic Violence), Cairns | Cairns Criminal Investigation Branch Detectives yesterday charged a 23-year-old Wonga Beach man with domestic violence offences.
Police will allege that on Wednesday, October 11, the man assaulted a woman known to him, before another woman intervened.
He has since been charged with one count each of strangulation (domestic violence offence), contravention of a domestic violence order.
The man was refused police bail, and he is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.

Police have charged a 24-year-old Kewarra Beach man following investigations by the Cairns Domestic Violence High Risk Investigation Team into alleged assaults and rape from 2021.
It will be alleged the incidents were reported to officers last week, with the specialist team taking carriage of the investigation.
Yesterday, detectives charged the 24-year-old man with two counts each of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count each of rape, strangulation (domestic violence offence), common assault.
The man was refused police bail, and he is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
