
Weapon and drug charges, Cairns
Police charged a 30-year-old Earlville man following multiple alleged drug-related offences at Cairns yesterday, October 26.
With the assistance of the Cairns City Safe camera operators, police located the man inside the precinct near the intersection of Lake Street and Shield Street at approximately 11.45pm.
It is alleged the man was previously issued with conditions banning him from the Cairns Safe Night Precinct when police intercepted him.
A search of the man located a large machete in a shopping bag, along with a quantity of cannabis and a pair of scissors alleged to be used in connection with dangerous drug use.
He was taken into police custody and charged with one count each of threatening violence with a weapon at night, possess dangerous drugs and possess utensil.
He is due to appear at Cairns Magistrates court today, October 27.
Property crime charges, Greater Cairns
Officers from Cairns Property Crime Squad and Tactical Crime Squad have charged eight people with a total of 22 offences following multiple property-related incidents across Cairns recently.
A 30-year-old Bentley Park man was arrested yesterday, October 26, after Cairns Tactical Crime Squad successfully deployed a tyre deflation device to intercept an alleged stolen vehicle on Mulgrave Road Earlville at approximately 4pm.
Police allege the black Toyota Yaris was stolen from a home in Bathurst Drive in Bentley Park on September 5 after keys were stolen from the property.
The man was charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is due to appear at Cairns Magistrates Court on November 22.
Police charged a 45-year-old Manoora woman following multiple alleged break-ins at homes in Stratford and Manoora over the past week.
She was charged yesterday, October 26, with two counts each of enter dwelling with intent and enter dwelling and commit, and one count of trespass.
She is due to appear at Cairns Magistrates Court on November 17.
Police charged a 15-year-old Earlville boy following an alleged break-in at Earlville last month.
It will be alleged the boy, along with two other boys previously charged, broke into a business along Ishmael Road on September 1.

It will be alleged the teens entered the building, stole keys and a vehicle before damaging a boom gate at the complex when they exited the property in the stolen vehicle.
A 12-year-old Manoora boy was charged with one count each of enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle in company, drive without a driver licence and attempted enter dwelling with intent at night.
A 15-year-old Edmonton boy was charged with one count each of wilful damage and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Police will further allege the boy stole a car from a property in Lake Street in Cairns before damaging a boom gate at the property as he drove the car out.
He is due to appear in the Cairns Childrens Court today, October 27.

Assault occasioning bodily harm charges, Earlville
Police charged a 30-year-old Mooroobool man following an alleged assault at Earlville on August 20.
It will be alleged at approximately 4.30am, the man struck another man, causing him to fall to the ground where he continued to assault him.
Upon arrival, emergency services located the 23-year-old Manunda man with multiple facial injuries.
Yesterday, police charged the 30-year-old Mooroobool man with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, unlicenced driving and contravene an order.
He is due to appear at Cairns Magistrates Court on November 10.
Stealing as a servant and drug charges, Cairns
Detectives from Cairns Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) charged a 47-year-old Mount Sheridan woman with one count of stealing as a servant and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
Police will allege the woman stole property belonging to her employer and was also found in possession of a quantity of dangerous drugs.
She is due to appear at Cairns Magistrates Court on November 2.
Suspicious fire investigation and public appeal for information, Cairns
Police are investigating following a suspicious fire in Paramatta Park last night, October 26.
Emergency services were called to the Severin Street property at approximately 6.30pm to reports of a fire.
Members of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services extinguished the fire and scientific fire examiners are currently investigating.
Witness or anyone with relevant vision, particularly around Severin Street and the area immediately around Scott Street near the Cairns Showgrounds at Parramatta Park between 6.15pm and 6.50pm yesterday, are urged to contact police.
