Weapons charges, Mooroobool
A 14-year-old boy has been charged after being located by officers at a Shang Street address on Saturday afternoon, September 28.
It will be alleged the boy had been carrying a rifle, along with a second person carrying a sword, across the McEwen Street footbridge at 6.30pm Friday evening, September 27.
It will be further alleged the boy and his associate were pictured in social media posts later in the evening with the rifle and sword in a public place as well as in a vehicle.
The boy will also be alleged to have been involved in several break and enters into properties in Mooroobool, Earlville and Edmonton over the past month.
He has been charged with five counts of enter dwelling, and one count each of unlawful possession of weapons, carry dangerous goods in vehicle, and wilful damage.
He is due to appear before Cairns Childrens Court on October 5.
Investigations are ongoing into the person’s involvement.

Assault, Westcourt
A 22-year-old Earlville man has been charged following an incident at a Mulgrave Road shopping centre on Saturday afternoon, September 28.
It will be alleged the man approached a 10-year-old boy from behind pushing him over the handlebars of the bicycle he was sitting on.
The man then allegedly stole a second bike from the location and left the area.
The boy sustained minor cuts and bruising from the assault.
Officers patrolling along Bruce Highway at Mount Sheridan on Sunday morning noted the man on the allegedly stolen bike and after a short chase he was taken into custody.
It will also be alleged at the time of his arrest the man was in possession of a quantity of cannabis.
He has been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, stealing, and possess dangerous drugs.
He has been refused bail and will appear before Cairns Magistrates Court today, September 30.

Vehicle theft, Palm Cove
A 17-year-old and a 14-year-old boy have been charged after the alleged theft of a Toyota Prado from Palm Cove on Sunday afternoon.
The vehicle was located abandoned on Whereat Road late last night with the two boys being located and arrested soon after a short distance away.
Both boys have been charged with one count of unlawful use of motor vehicle.
The 17-year-old boy will also be alleged to have been involved in the attempted break-in of a Fretwell Road White Rock home on the same evening.
He has been charged with one count of attempted enter dwelling in relation to this incident.
The 17-year-old is due to appear before Cairns Childrens Court on October 2 with the 14-year-old being dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
