Torture charge, Koah
Officers from the Cairns Criminal Investigation Branch yesterday charged two men following ongoing investigations into an alleged incident at Koah on August 28.
The man was taken into custody after a search warrant was executed at a Kookaburra Close address at 1pm yesterday, September 30.
It will be alleged the 57-year-old man was involved in the prolonged assault of a 47-year-old man during which time the victim was stabbed, struck to the head with a heavy object and tasered.
The victim was treated for multiple injuries at Cairns Hospital.
The 57-year-old man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, torture, wounding, deprivation of liberty, enter dwelling, possession of utensils, possession of dangerous drug, and four counts of assault and five counts of fail to appear.
He was refused bail and will appear before Cairns Magistrates Court today, October 1.
A 41-year-old Kuranda man was charged with one count of wounding, torture, deprivation of liberty, armed robbery, possession of utensils, possession of a dangerous drug, enter dwelling, and two counts of assault.
He was refused bail and will reappear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 8.

Assault, Gordonvale
An 11-year-old boy has been charged following an alleged incident at Salvatore Drive, Gordonvale on Saturday morning, September 28.
It will be alleged the boy punched a 24-year-old man in the face before causing damage to a dwelling and leaving the area.
The boy was arrested after he returned to the location in the early hours of this morning.
He has been charged with one count each of assault and wilful damage.
He will appear before Cairns Childrens Court at a later date.

Vehicle charges, Cairns
A 14-year-old Westcourt boy has been charged after being located at a Brophy Street address yesterday morning, September 30.
It will be alleged the boy had been involved in breaking into a White Rock home on September 25 and a Bayview Heights home on September 26, stealing a vehicle from the homes on both occasions.
It will also be alleged the boy broke into an Earlville home on September 26 and stole from a North Cairns business on September 18.
The boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, and one count each of enter dwelling and stealing.
He has been refused bail and will appear before Cairns Childrens Court today, October 1.
