Property crime charges, Bentley Park

Police have charged four teenagers following a string of alleged property offences across Bentley Park yesterday, October 31.

It will be alleged at approximately 4.30pm, the group attempted to break in to multiple properties along Bathurst Drive when they were confronted by a member of the public.

The group allegedly threatened the man with a knife before fleeing the scene.

No one was physically injured.

With assistance from Polair, the teenagers were tracked by police and taken into custody nearby a short time later.

A 14-year-old Edmonton boy was charged with two counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence and one count each of trespass and enter dwelling and commit.

A 15-year-old White Rock boy was charged with one count each of burglary and stealing.

A 17-year-old Mount Sheridan boy was charged with one count of enter dwelling with intent by break and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

It will be alleged he was involved in the break in and the unlawful use of a motor vehicle in Edmonton on October 29.

Police allege additional charges were linked to other offences in the Edmonton area.

Police bail was refused for all three, and they are due to appear at Cairns Childrens Court.

Another 14-year-old Bentley Park boy was charged with one count of attempted enter dwelling and commit and was issued a police caution.  QP2401871164

Property crime charges, Greater Cairns

Detectives from the Cairns Property Crime Squad, with assistance from the Tactical Crime Squad and local officers, have charged seven people with 62 property offences after extensive investigations into alleged offences that occurred across the greater Cairns area over the past week.

An 18-year-old Manoora woman was charged with two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and enter premises with intent, one count of fail to appear and three counts of breach of bail.

A 17-year-old Manoora boy was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, one count each of possess tainted property and possess implements.

Police allege they used vehicles that were stolen from homes in Edge Hill and Edmonton and committed further property offences.

The duo were taken into police custody yesterday, October 31, with police further alleging the boy was in possession of a jewellery and other personal items.

They were denied bail and are due to appear at Cairns Magistrates Court today, November 1. QP2401765632

A 15-year-old Gordonvale boy was charged with four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle, and one count each of burglary, unlicensed driving, fail to fulfil duties and possess tainted property.

Police allege he stole four cars over the past week from Gordonvale, White Rock, and Manunda.

It will be further alleged the boy drove vehicles dangerously over that period, later crashing a stolen blue Mazda CX30 into a parked Toyota Hilux in McCormack Street, Manunda.

Police located the vehicle abandoned along Dollison Street, Manunda, a short time later.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Cairns Childrens Court today, November 1. QP2401861584

A 15-year-old White Rock boy was charged with three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, four counts of stealing, three counts of unlicenced driving and one count of enter dwelling with intent.

Police allege over the past week the boy broke into properties at Edge Hill, Whitfield, Manoora, White Rock, and Park Ridge, stealing vehicles and property.

It will be further alleged he stole property from multiple businesses across Cairns North, Parramatta Park, Portsmith and Woree.

He was denied bail and is due to appear at Cairns Childrens Court today, November 1. QP2401861185

A 17-year-old girl was charged with five counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and 14 counts of breach of bail.

Police allege over the past week, the girl was involved in the theft and use of five vehicles stolen from Manoora, Cairns City and Bentley Park.

It will be further alleged she breached conditions of her bail on 15 separate occasions.

She was denied bail and is due to appear at Cairns Childrens Court today, November 1. QP2401859622

A 14-year-old Manoora boy was charged with one count of armed robbery in company, enter dwelling with intent at night, common assault, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of enter premises and commit, and three counts of breach of bail.

Police allege at approximately 3.10am on Wednesday, October 30 the boy was part of a group that broke into a home in Earlville, before threatening a man in his 70s with a knife and stealing cash, keys, and a vehicle.

Police later located the vehicle abandoned along Rambutan Close in Manoora at approximately 3.30pm, October 30.

It will be further alleged the boy committed other property related offences this week.

He was denied bail and he is due to appear at Cairns Childrens Court today.  QP2401859550

An 18-year-old White Rock woman was charged with one count of robbery in company.

Police allege the woman was travelling on a bus along Rigg Street in Woree at approximately 11am on Tuesday, October 29, when she threatened a 16-year-old Cairns girl with a pair of scissors, before stealing her mobile phone.

She is due to appear at Cairns Magistrates Court next month. QP2401856628
