Arrest, multiple property offences, Greater Cairns
A 17-year-old Mooroobool boy will face 40 charges after he was arrested by detectives from the Property Crime Unit at a Manunda home yesterday.
The teen was charged with multiple property related offences allegedly committed in the greater Cairns area between October 22 and November 5.
He was charged with 14 counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, eight counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, ten counts of unlicenced driving, five counts of stealing and one count each of burglary, obstructing police and possessing tainted property.
He was refused police bail and is scheduled to appear before the Cairns Childrens Court today.

Public violence, Cairns City
A 39-year-old Nightcliff (Darwin) woman has been arrested following an incident near the intersection of Lake and Shields Streets yesterday morning, November 5.
It will be alleged the woman struck another woman just after 7.30am with members of the public diverting from the area to avoid her.
Officers, with the help of City Safe CCTV operators, were able to locate the alleged offender near the intersection of Lake and Aplin Streets approximately 15 minutes later.
It will be further alleged the woman failed to appear for a court appearance at the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 4.
She has been charged with one count each of commit public nuisance and fail to appear in accordance with undertaking.
She has also been issued a 30-day notice banning her from the Cairns Safe Night Precinct.
She has been refused bail and will appear before Cairns Magistrates Court today, November 6.

Traffic offence, Portsmith
A Nissan Qashai and a Nissan Patrol have been involved in a collision on Buchan Street yesterday morning, November 5.
Just before 11:20am the vehicles were travelling toward each other when it will be alleged the Qashai turned in front of the Patrol resulting in the Patrol colliding with side of the Qashai.
No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
The 38-year-old Mount Sheridan woman who was the driver of the Qashai has been issued a penalty infringement notice for careless driving totalling $645 with 3 demerit points accrued.

Assault and stealing, Mount Sheridan
A 14-year-old Edmonton boy has been charged following an incident at a Mount Sheridan bus stop on November 2.
It will be alleged at 7:30pm the boy was part of a group of approximately 15 persons who got off a bus at the stop and approached a 15-year-old boy waiting there.
The boy allegedly demanded the victim’s shoes, threatening that the group would assault him if he did not comply.
The victim was able to get on the next bus after handing over his shoes. With the driver of the bus denying access to the boy and the rest of the group.
The boy has been charged with one count each of assault, stealing, and two counts of breach of bail.
He has been refused bail and will appear before Cairns Childrens Court today, November 6.
Investigations are continuing into others involved in the incident.
