A 26-year-old Hermit Park woman has been charged after being arrested by officers at a Mulgrave Road shopping centre yesterday afternoon, November 19.
Police were called to the centre by security at 12:30pm, after the woman allegedly stole property from a sporting store.
Police will also allege that the woman assaulted and obstructed officers when being escorted from the centre.
It will be further alleged that the woman had been involved in a fuel drive-off in a stolen Honda Civic at Bentley Park on November 16.
She has been charged with four counts of stealing, two counts of breach of bail, and one count each of assault police, obstruct police, unlawful use of motor vehicle, and possession of suspected stolen property.
She has been denied bail and will appear before Cairns Magistrates Court today, November 20.

Drug Driving, Gordonvale
A 35-year-old Gordonvale man has been charged after he was intercepted by officers from Cairns Highway Patrol while riding his motorbike on Cairns Road.
It will be alleged the man returned a positive result for methylamphetamine, when tested roadside at 6:30pm on Monday evening, November 18.
It will be further alleged that a secondary test conducted also returned a positive result for methylamphetamine.
The man has been charged with one count of drug driving and was issued an immediate licence suspension.
He is due to appear before Cairns Magistrates Court January 10.
