Vehicle charges, Westcourt
Two teenage boys have been taken into custody after a Toyota Kluger was subject to the successful deployment of a tyre deflation device on Tills Street last night, January 2.
The vehicle was abandoned on Cochrane Street just after 7pm where the two boys were allegedly seen fleeing the vehicle.
A short foot chase ensued with one boy being arrested in a drain near the vehicle and the other in a nearby hotel.
Both boys will also be alleged to have been involved in other incidents over the preceding two weeks.
The 14-year-old boy has been charged with three counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, and two counts of enter dwelling.
The 16-year-old boy has been charged with one count of unlawful use of motor vehicle, and one count of enter dwelling.
Both boys have been refused bail and will appear before Cairns Childrens Court today, January 3.

Assault, Cairns City
Three women have been charged following an incident in the city centre this morning.
It will be alleged that just after 6am the women were involved in an altercation near the corner of Shields and Grafton Streets.
It will be further alleged that at the time of the incident all three women were subject to a banning notice prohibiting them from entering the city area.
The women aged 45, 41 and 25-years-old have been charged with a total of six offences consisting of one count of assault, two counts of public nuisance violent, and three counts of breach of banning notice.
All three are due to appear before Cairns Magistrates Court in the coming weeks.
