Break and enter, Edge Hill

A 34-year-old Aeroglen man was charged yesterday following lengthy investigations into incidents dating back to November of last year.

It will be alleged the man broke into a Collins Avenue café on November 22 stealing power tools and a safe with a quantity of cash inside.

It will be further alleged the man stole a large amount of copper wire from a Mareeba electrical depot on November 12.

The man allegedly later sold the copper wire in Cairns.

He has been charged with one count each of enter premises, stealing, fraud, and trespass.

He is due to appear before Cairns Magistrates Court at a later date.

Break and enter, Portsmith

A 41-year-old Parramatta Park man has been charged after being located by officers on Severin Street yesterday afternoon, February 3.

It will be alleged the man had broken into a Lyon Street business on January 1 before stealing assorted items.

It will be further alleged the man had been the subject of a warrant after failing to appear at court on January 24.

He has been charged with one count each of enter premises and commit indictable offence, fail to appear, and riding a bike without a helmet.

He has been refused bail and will appear before the Cairns Magistrates Court today, February 4.

Warrants, Cairns City

A 27-year-old Lockhart River woman has been arrested after being located at a Lake Street bus stop in the early hours of this morning, February 4.

It will be alleged the woman had failed to appear at court on January 10 in relation to two previous matters resulting in warrants being issued.

She has been charged with two counts of fail to appear in accordance with undertaking.

She has been refused bail and will appear before Cairns Magistrates Court today, February 4.
