Five teenagers were arrested after a stolen Honda HR-V was subject to a tyre deflation device on the corner of Sandown Close and Mulgrave Road in the early hours of this morning, February 13.
The two 14-year-old girls, one 17-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy, and a 16-year-old boy will be alleged to have fled the vehicle just after midnight.
Several officers with the help of new Police Dog DJ and his handler were able to locate and arrest all five alleged occupants of the vehicle.
All five teenagers will be alleged to have been involved in previous incidents dating back to October of last year, including breaking into properties, stealing vehicles, robbery and assault.
The group have been charged with a combined total of 26 offences including six counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, three counts of enter dwelling, three counts of stealing, dangerous operation of motor vehicle, robbery in company, serious assault police, and multiple breaches of bail.
One 14-year-old girl, the 15-year-old boy and the 16-year-old boy have been denied bail and will appear before the Cairns Childrens Court today, February 13.
Another 14-year-old girl and the 17-year-old girl are due to appear before the Cairns Childrens Court on February 19.

Assault, North Cairns
A 19-year-old Woree man has been arrested following an incident at the Cairns Hospital in the early hours of this morning, February 13.
It will be alleged the man was abusive toward medical staff at around 4am when officers in the hospital intervened.
The man allegedly kicked one of the officers who had attempted to restrain him.
He has been charged with one count each of public nuisance and assault police officer.
He has been refused bail and will appear before the Cairns Magistrates Court today, February 13.

Non-suspicious house fire, Freshwater
Emergency services were called to a home in Old Smithfield Road, Freshwater at about 7am yesterday, February 12, after four tradies observed smoke coming from a two-story home.
The men, aged 36, 35 and two aged 29, alerted the residents in both the downstairs and upstairs units and helped three residents’ escape.
The men re-entered the upstairs residence, which was well alight and evacuated an 82-year-old man before the fire took hold of the entire property.
Fire investigators examined the scene and it is believed to be non-suspicious.
