Traffic crash, Woree: Police yesterday charged a 17-year-old Edmonton man with driving without due care and attention after he allegedly lost control of the vehicle he was driving and crashed into a fence and sign. The incident occurred around 5.30pm yesterday near the intersection of Windarra St and Rigg St, Woree next to the WoreePrimary School drop off area.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the Holden Commodore sedan, was not injured as a result of the incident. Police seized the vehicle for a period of 48hrs under type 1 Hoon Legislation. The man is scheduled to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court on September 25.
Woman charged over serious assault, Parramatta Park: A 34-year-old ParramattaPark woman was charged last night following an incident at a Pembroke Street unit at around 7.15pm. Police were called to investigate a noise complaint at the unit and were speaking with the woman when she allegedly slapped a female officer across the face before spitting on her. The woman was charged with one count each of serious assault and obstructing police and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on August 23.
