Missing person, Kuranda:  Police are calling for assistance from the community in an effort to locate a man missing from his Kuranda address for almost two weeks.

33-year-old George Samuel Baggott was last seen on September 22 at Kuranda and has been reported missing by his family.

Investigations by Tablelands CIB and Kuranda Police have failed to determine his whereabouts to date and investigators hold concerns for the missing man’s welfare.

George is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • male
  • fair complexion
  • brown hair
  • blue eyes
  • 180cm (approx.)
  • slim build

Fraud charges, Edmonton:  Detectives yesterday charged a 16-year-old Edmonton girl as part of an investigation into the alleged theft and fraudulent use of a credit card at Edmonton last month.

It will be alleged that the card was with a wallet and other items which were stolen from a truck which was being unloaded at a Supply Road business premise on September 12.

It will be alleged that the girl subsequently gained possession of the stolen credit card and used it to pay a taxi fare as well as purchasing food and refreshments from two other Edmonton businesses.

She was taken into custody at around 11:00am and charged with three counts of fraud and will be dealt with under the provisions of The Youth Justice Act 1992.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.

Burglary and vehicle theft charges, Edmonton:  A 19-year-old Edmonton man was charged yesterday following an investigation into the alleged break and entry of a Badilla Street residence.

It will be alleged that the man forced entry to the residence overnight on September 24 and stole liquor, mobile phones, a computer tablet with associated computer equipment and a set of car keys.  It will be further alleged that he used to keys to steal a four wheel drive vehicle which was parked in the driveway.
The vehicle was subsequently located abandoned in Mareeba.

The man was charged with one count each of burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlicensed driving and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 13.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
