Burglary charge, Bungalow:  A 24-year-old Yarrabah woman was charged early this morning following the alleged attempted entry of a number of vehicles in the Cairns CBD.  Officers were conducting beat duty in Grafton Street shortly after midnight when they located the woman in possession of an allegedly stolen phone and computer tablet.  Subsequent inquiries lead officers to a Bunting Street dwelling.  Upon being roused, the residents became aware that they had been the victims of an overnight burglary offence.  The woman was charged with one count of burglary and two counts of attempted unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on September 11.

Woman charged over workplace theft, Cairns:  Detectives charged a 38-year-old White Rock woman yesterday following an investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds from her employer.  It will be alleged that the offences occurred between November 2012 and June this year whilst she was employed in a property management capacity.  She was charged with one count of fraud and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on August 29.
