Pair charged over Earlville robbery:  Detectives yesterday charged a 20-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy following investigations into the alleged assault and robbery of a woman outside an Earlville shopping centre last Tuesday, November 27.

A 23-year-old Cairns woman was allegedly set upon and robbed of her handbag as she approached an entrance to the shopping centre at around 10.15am.

The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Investigations led officers to an address on Sheridan Street, North Cairns where the pair were located and taken into custody just after 1pm yesterday.

The woman was charged with one count each of robbery with violence whilst in company, failing to appear in accordance with a bail undertaking, failing to comply with a reporting condition and three counts of breaching a condition of bail.  She is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court this morning.

The boy was charged with one count of robbery with violence whilst in company and will be dealt with under the provisions of The Youth Justice Act 1992.

Men charged over property crime spree:  Smithfield police have charged two Clifton Beach men following a protracted investigation into property related offences allegedly committed between Cairns and Wonga Beach over the past six weeks.

The men aged 27 and 31 were arrested at a residence on Upolo Esplanade, Clifton Beach just before 9pm on Sunday, November 1.

They were subsequently charged with a total of 15 offences including entering premises and stealing, unlawful use of motor vehicles, stealing, attempted entry to premises and other matters.

Both men have been remanded in custody and are due to reappear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on November 30.
