Update: Robbery with violence, Woree: Detectives have charged a further two men regarding a robbery incident alleged to have occurred at a Loretta Avenue residence on Friday night.
It will be alleged that the men, who were not known to the victims, assaulted another man at the residence at around 6pm before making demands for cash and stealing money from another man who was present.
It will be further alleged that they damaged a plant pot and a door at the residence, and also damaged a car wind shield.
Police were notified and subsequently located and charged a 20-year-old man from White Rock.
He was been charged with one count each of attempted robbery, robbery in company, demanding property with menace and two counts of wilful damage, and is due to reappear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 12.
Investigations continued on Saturday, with officers executing a search warrant at a White Rock residence at around 10.40am.
A number of items of interest to the investigation were seized and two men aged 25 and 27-years-old were arrested and charged with one count each of robbery with violence whilst in company, attempted robbery and demanding property with menace, as well as two counts of wilful damage.
The 27-year-old is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later this morning whilst the younger man is due to appear in the same court on August 31.
Sexual assault charge, Hopevale: Police have charged a 28-year-old Hopevale man following investigations into an incident at a Hopevale residence early on Saturday morning.
It will be alleged that a woman was asleep in her bedroom at the address at around 5am when the man, who was known to her, entered the room and assaulted her.
She sustained an injury to her face and a finger during the incident and was treated at the Cooktown hospital.
Police located the man at a North Street residence at around 7.30am and he was taken into custody.
He was charged with one count each of entering a dwelling with intent and rape and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court this morning.
Property charges, Southside: Cairns Property Crime Squad officers charged a 22-year-old Mount Sheridan man on Friday following investigations into the alleged burglary of a Normanby Close residence at Mount Sheridan on August 8.
It will be alleged that the man unlawfully entered the residence during the day whilst the occupants were absent and stole cash, phones, laptop computers, jewellery, tools and a guitar.
An investigation was commenced and officers attended an address in Fife Close on Friday morning where they spoke with the man and seized a quantity of suspected stolen property.
Further investigations were conducted in relation to the located items and they were subsequently linked to a number of other burglary and property offences allegedly committed in Mount Sheridan, Bentley Park and Edmonton between May 17 and July 20.
The man was charged with five counts of burglary, two counts each of stealing and trespass and is due to reappear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on August 29.
