Drink drive charges | Edge Hill
Police have charged a 42-year-old Edge Hill man following an alleged drink driving incident in Edge Hill yesterday, September 13.
It will be alleged just before 2pm, the man was intercepted by Highway Patrol Officers on Collins Avenue. An initial roadside breath test was conducted with the driver allegedly returning a positive result.
The man was detained by police and required to provide a further test where he allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.219.
The man’s licence was immediately suspended, and he was charged with one count of driving whilst under the influence of liquor (UIL). He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on September 28.

Public nuisance, assault police and contravene banning notice charges | Cairns City
Police have charged a 40-year-old Portsmith man following an alleged incident on the Esplanade, Cairns City yesterday, September 13.
It will be alleged at approximately 4.20pm on September 13 the man was involved in an altercation with a number of people in a public place.
An off-duty police officer intervened and identified himself to the man. It will be alleged the 40-year-old threw food items, hitting the police officer in the head before officers arrived to assist.
The man was arrested and charged with one count each of assault police, public nuisance and contravene a banning notice.
He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 2.

Affray, assault and obstruct police, possess drugs and multiple public nuisance charges | Cairns City
Police have charged three people in relation to an incident at the intersection of Lake and Shields Streets, Cairns City on September 14.
It will be alleged at approximately 2:20am two 19-year-old men and a 19-year-old woman were involved in an altercation.
Security guards intervened before multiple police crews arrived and arrested the offenders.
A 19-year-old Mareeba man was issued with a police banning notice for the Cairns Safe Night Precinct (SNP) and charged with one count of affray. He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on September 29.
A 19-year-old Kuranda man was issued with a police banning notice for the Cairns SNP and charged with one count each of obstruct police and possess drug utensil.
A 19-year-old Kuranda woman was charged with one count each of assault police officer and obstruct police.
Police overnight also charged a number of people in separate incidents within the SNP with public nuisance offences.
A 64-year-old Cairns man was issued with a police banning notice for the Cairns SNP and charged with one count of public nuisance. He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 2.
A 40-year-old Smithfield man was issued with a police banning notice for the Cairns SNP and charged with one count of public nuisance. He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on September 27.
A 35-year-old woman was issued with a police banning notice for the Cairns SNP and charged with one count of public nuisance. She is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 3.
