
Grievous bodily harm charges | Edmonton
Police have charged a 39-year-old Edmonton woman following an alleged assault on Ravizza Drive in Edmonton yesterday, October 4.
Police were called to a nearby business just after 4:30pm, to reports of a 25-year-old woman with injuries following an altercation between a group of people.
During the altercation, it is alleged the 39-year-old woman approached the 25-year-old woman and stabbed her once.
The 25-year-old woman sustained a small wound to her abdomen and was transported to Cairns Hospital.
Police will allege the two women are known to each other.
The 39-year-old woman was arrested and charged with one count of grievous bodily harm.
She was denied police bail and is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today, October 5.

Assault and wilful damage charges | Cairns City
Police have charged three people with a total of 11 charges following investigations into an alleged assault in Cairns City yesterday evening, October 4.
It will be alleged at approximately 6pm, a 15-year-old Manunda girl, a 16 year-old Bentley Park boy and an 18-year-old Manunda woman were involved in a physical altercation with a 38-year-old Kanimbla man at a business in Cairns City.
The man sustained minor injuries.
Police attended the scene and took the three teenagers into custody.
The 15-year-old girl was charged with one count each of common assault and wilful damage of police property, and assault occasioning bodily harm in relation to a separate incident from August 23.
She is due to appear in the Cairns Children’s Court at a later date.
The 16-year-old boy was charged with one count of assault occasioning bodily harm whilst in company, and six other unrelating charges.
He is due to appear in the Cairns Children’s Court at a later date.
The 18-year-old woman was charged with one count of common assault. She is due to appear before Cairns Magistrates Court on October 20.

Drink driving charges | Aeroglen
Police have charged a 26-year-old Brinsmead man following an alleged drink driving incident in Aeroglen this morning, October 5.
It will be alleged at 3:30am, the man was intercepted by officers on the Captain Cook Highway.
Officers conducted an initial roadside breath test, with the driver returning a positive result.
The man was detained and transported to a nearby Police Station for further testing where he allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.187.
The man’s licence was immediately suspended, the vehicle impounded, and he was charged with one count each of driving whilst under the influence of liquor (UIL), learner driver unsupervised and learner driver not displaying L plates.
He is due to appear before Cairns Magistrates Court on October 20.
