Multiple offences, Earlville

A 16-year-old Manunda boy was charged yesterday February 4, after being located by officers from Cairns Child Protection Investigation Unit.

It will be alleged the boy had been involved in breaking into multiple units on Balaclava Road in the early hours of the morning on December 29.

During these breaks it will be alleged a Holden Rodeo and a Volkswagen Golf were stolen along with cash and other personal items.

The boy will also be alleged to have posted stories to social media showing himself and others utilising the stolen vehicles.

The boy will also be alleged to have been involved with a Mitsubishi Pajero stolen from a Gates Close address on January 23.

He has been charged with two counts of enter dwelling, two counts of attempted enter dwelling, two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, and one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle publish on social media, and breach of bail.

He has been refused bail and will appear before the Cairns Childrens Court today, February 5.

Break and enter, Bungalow

A 30-year-old man has been charged after being located at a Barrett Street address yesterday afternoon, February 4.

It will be alleged the man used bolt cutters to cut through the fence of a Spence Street business late night on January 16.

It will be further alleged the man entered the business and filled a backpack with various products before leaving the location.

He has been charged with one count of enter premises and commit indictable offence by break.

He is due to appear before the Cairns Magistrates Court on February 19.

Assault, Manunda

A 43-year-old White Rock woman has been arrested after being located by officers at a Koch Street bus stop yesterday, February 4.

It will be alleged the woman failed to appear in court on January 14 resulting in a warrant being taken out for her arrest.

It will be further alleged that officers located several bank cards in another person’s name in her possession at the time of her arrest.

The woman had also allegedly been involved in an assault at Mayers Street on January 16 as well as an incident at a Manoora neighbourhood centre on January 28.

She has been charged with one count each of assault, public nuisance, fail to appear, and possession of suspected stolen property.

She has been refused bail and will appear before Cairns Magistrates Court today, February 5.
