
Burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and traffic charges | Cairns
Police have charged a 14-year-old Edmonton boy following investigations into multiple alleged incidents across Cairns in September and October.
It will be alleged the boy stole electronic devices from a business in Smithfield on September 9 and another business in Manoora on October 6.
At approximately 1pm yesterday, October 10, it will be alleged that a vehicle allegedly stolen from Cairns City earlier that morning, was being driven by the boy when it was subjected to a successful tyre deflation device deployment. The boy fled the vehicle and was apprehended a short time later.
The 14-year-old boy was charged with two counts of enter premises and commit, and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and driving without a licence.
He was denied police bail and is due to appear in the Cairns Childrens Court today, October 11.

Public nuisance and trespass charges | Smithfield
Police have charged a 48-year-old man following an alleged incident at a shopping centre in Smithfield yesterday, October 10.
Just after 3:30pm, police were called after it is alleged the man refused to leave the location when asked to by security after he was seen to harass a number of people.
A 48-year-old Bungalow man was charged with one count each of public nuisance and trespass.
He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on October 25.

Drink driving charges | Edmonton
Police have charged a 42-year-old Edmonton man following an alleged drink driving incident in Edmonton this morning, October 11.
It will be alleged just after 2am, the man was intercepted driving a vehicle on Mount Peter Road. Officers conducted an initial roadside breath test, with the driver returning a positive result.
The man was detained and transported to a nearby Police Station for further testing where he allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.146.
The man’s licence was immediately suspended, and he was charged with one count of driving whilst under the influence of liquor (UIL).
He is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on November 1.
