A 25-year-old Parramatta Park man was charged this morning following investigations into the alleged robbery of a Shields Street convenience store earlier this morning.
Police will allege that the man entered the store at around 2am and threatened a male employee before fleeing with a quantity of foodstuffs.
Police crews located the man a short distance from the incident scene and he was taken into custody without further incident. He was charged with one count of armed robbery and is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court this afternoon.
The store employee was not physically injured as a result of the incident.
